Build the Concept Before the Numericals

Students often jump straight to solving numericals and memorising formulas, then freeze when a question is phrased in a new way. Start instead by understanding what each law actually describes and the conditions under which it holds. When you grasp why a relationship exists, you can rebuild the formula even if memory slips. Only after the concept is clear should you move into heavy problem practice, because the practice then reinforces understanding rather than masking its absence.

Practise Derivations, Not Just Answers

Deriving key results yourself, even a few times, builds an intuition that pure memorisation cannot. You start to see how quantities relate, which units belong where, and which special cases simplify the maths. This pays off when a problem hides a familiar relationship inside unfamiliar wording. Keep a compact sheet of the formulas you use most, but make sure you could rebuild the important ones from a basic starting point if asked.

Hunt Down Careless Errors

In Physics, the gap between a good and a great score is often accuracy, not ability. Sign mistakes, unit conversions and misread data quietly cost marks on questions you understood perfectly. After every practice set, separate genuine concept gaps from careless slips and track the slips in an error log. Reading the question twice and writing units at each step costs seconds and saves marks. Treat accuracy as a skill you train, not a trait you are born with.
